Dr. Timothy Bonenfant and Trent Shuey of the ASU music faculty will present a recital of American works for clarinet and percussion on Tuesday, April 10, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public. The musical program will include:
- “Wind Songs One” by Walter Blanton
- “Studies for Clarinet & Vibraphone” by Charles Ruggiero
- “Strange Dreams” by Nathan Daughtrey
- “Prisms for Clarinet and Marimba” by Robert Kreutz
- “Corker” by Libby Larsen
“Wind Songs One” was written by the late Walter Blanton for Bonenfant, who recorded it for release on Blanton’s album, “Body of a House.” Bonenfant’s and Shuey’s ASU performance is built around the concept of celebrating Blanton’s life.
