19th Annual Brisket Cook-off

Check-in: Sunday, October 11, 9-10 a.m., ASU Pavilion
Judging: Sunday, October 11, 5p.m., ASU Pavilion

A $25 entry fee must be turned in to the Center for Student Involvement. All proceeds go towards the Homecoming Make-A-Wish program.  Please make checks payable to Make-A-Wish Foundation.


  1. Teams will be required to provide their own brisket and cooker or bbq pit.
  2. Each team participating must check-in with a Homecoming committee member at the registration table. You will be given a number and a plate to provide your brisket for judging.
  3. All brisket entries will be cooked on location.  The brisket being judged must arrive at the event completely uncooked.  If brisket is pre-heated or pre-cooked, the brisket entry will be disqualified and no points will be awarded.
  4. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.  Students, organizations and/or teams caught with alcoholic beverages will be asked to leave and will forfeit all points for the brisket cook-off contest.  This includes alcoholic beverages in recipes.
  5. Only current ASU students, faculty, and staff may participate in the contest.
  6. Music will be provided during this event.
  7. All entries will be judged anonymously on a number of factors by a panel of judges to be announced the day of the competition. 
  8. Temperature of the briskets will be checked between the fourth and fifth hour to ensure it will be ready for judging.
