English Faculty Host Ft. Concho Students

Dr. Linda Kornasky, professor of English, and Dr. Mark Hama, professor of English, have just wrapped up their hosting of the 5th annual Ft. Concho Elementary visit to Angelo State University. Fifth grade teachers brought 82 students divided into two groups.  Dr. Kornasky conducted a 45-minute session with some Emily Dickinson poetry while Dr. Hama covered a Gary Soto short story with the other group. Then students switched classes, so they could experience both lessons.  

Dr. Hama commented, “It was a very spirited bunch.  We had a lot of fun and got in some good plugs for reading, studying literature, and thinking about Angelo State.”
