ASU Faculty Exhibit Art in Nepal

Eight faculty members from Angelo State University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts will exhibit their artworks later this month at the Taragaon Museum in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Edwin Cuenco Edwin Cuenco Titled “Angelo State University Faculty Art Exhibition in Nepal,” the exhibit will run from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10 and is being facilitated by Edwin Cuenco of the ASU art faculty, who is the 2016 Fulbright U.S. Faculty Scholar to Kathmandu University. 

Artworks and video lectures by Cuenco and fellow ASU art faculty Esteban Apodaca, Katherine Bunker, Randy Hall, Chris Stewart, Devon Stewart, Ben Sum and John Vinklarek will be included in the exhibition. Many of the artworks and limited prints to be displayed were previously entered in other fine arts exhibits and juried competitions. 

The exhibit’s opening ceremony on Nov. 25 will be presided over by Alaina B. Teplitz, U.S. ambassador to Nepal, and attended by dignitaries from Kathmandu University, the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Educational Foundation in Nepal’s Fulbright Commission. 

The event will also further strengthen ties between ASU and Kathmandu University following the recent articulation agreement between the two schools that will soon start bringing more Nepalese students to the ASU campus.
