SBDC Hosting Exporting Conference

Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host the Concho Valley Exporting Conference 2012 on Tuesday, May 1, in the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center, 1620 University Ave.

Titled “New Global Opportunities,” the conference will run from 1-5 p.m. and is open to the public.  It is designed for local and area business owners interested in learning about resources and programs available to promote importing and exporting.  Admission is $15 per person, or free with an online coupon available at www.angelo.edu/content/files/15817-2012-special-events.

Information presented at the conference will include details about special funding options and resources available for those pursuing exporting ventures.  Discussion topics will include finding funding, matching with importers or exporters in other nations and planning an international business.

Speakers will be Doug Smith, assistant director of the International Trade Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio; Richard Rayne, senior international sales executive for FedEx International Sales; and Jaime A. Martinez, senior international business consultant for Texas International Business Accelerator.
