ASU Jazz Ensemble to Present Iconic Works

Angelo State University’s Jazz Ensemble will perform selections from some of America’s best-known popular composers on Thursday, April 26, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive. 

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public.

Musical selections will include “S’Wonderful” by George and Ira Gershwin; “Belle Fernande” by David Adickes; “Self-Portrait in Three Colors” by Charles Mingus; “What Is This Thing Called Love?” by Cole Porter; “Main Stem” by Duke Ellington; “Have You Met Miss Jones?” by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart; “Haitian Fight Song” by Mingus; “Bewitched” by Rodgers and Hart; and “What Is Hip?” by Tower of Power.

The ASU Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Tim Bonenfant, associate professor of music.
