I/O Psych & Counseling Master’s Degrees Nationally Ranked

Angelo State University’s Master of Science in industrial/organizational psychology degree program has been ranked among the top 20 in the nation by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), which represents Division 14 of the American Psychological Association and is the premier membership organization for HR professionals.

SIOP Logo SIOP formulated its rankings based on institutional data and surveys completed by the directors of I/O psychology master’s degree programs at more than 125 colleges and universities. Weighted scores were given to each program in the areas of curriculum, faculty experience, student accomplishments and the amount of applied experience students receive outside the classroom. 

ASU’s M.S. in I/O psychology program ranked No. 20 in the U.S. overall – and achieved its highest category ranking (No. 13) in applied experience, which was weighted highest among the four categories. The ASU program was also the only one at a Texas public university to make the SIOP rankings.  

2018 Most Affordable Online Colleges Master's-School Counseling SR Education Group Badge On a related note, ASU’s online Master of Education in guidance and counseling degree program has been ranked among the best and most affordable programs in the U.S. by divisions of the SR Education Group, a higher education publishing company dedicated to prospective online students in all academic disciplines. 

ASU’s online M.Ed. in guidance and counseling ranked No. 20 among the “Most Affordable Online Colleges for a Master’s in School Counseling” for 2018 by the OnlineU.org higher education resource guide. It was also ranked No. 22 among the “Best Online Schools Offering a Master’s in School Counseling” for 2018 by the GuideToOnlineSchools.com higher education resource guide. 

Only accredited colleges and universities were eligible for the two rankings. The OnlineU.org rankings were based on tuition rates, available degrees and program coursework, using data from the National Center for Education Statistics and school websites.  

The GuideToOnlineSchools.com rankings were based on academic strength and tuition rates, using data from the NCES and school websites.
