Recreation Specialist (Outdoor Activities)
Comprehensive knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and Air Education and Training Command policies, procedures, and general business. Practice related to management planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating recreational programs. Requires significant technical and administrative ability necessary to plan, direct, and implement various programs. Must possess knowledge of outdoor recreational operations and services, along with the various programs. Requires continuing ability to deal effectively with all individuals. Comprehensive budgetary knowledge sufficient to analyze financial trends and advanced planning. Must be able to perform maintenance for all boats and water related equipment. Independently trouble shoot, repair, and maintain outboard and inboard engines able to maintain a safe working area in which to repair all water-based equipment. Position of trust. Must satisfactorily complete a local files check and a National Agency Check with Inquiries. Must possess a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and basic first aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Goodfellow Recreation Camp Manager, responsible for the business, administrative, fiscal, and recreational operations of the recreation camp located 9 miles from Goodfellow AFB, comprising 15 acres on Lake Newsworthy. Responsible for the overall management of the Recreation Camp programs, facilities, and employees (expect swimming pool). Assigns duties and responsibilities of positions under his/her supervision in an economical and efficient manner.
