Maintenance Worker, NA-05
Must have general handy-man knowledge. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Must have working knowledge of tools and materials required to make minor repairs. Must be able to prepare and follow simple work plans. Must be able to perform considerable standing, stooping and bending. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. Carpentry: Performs minor carpentry tasks which include repair of paneling, weather stripping, doors and cabinets and installing pre-assembled cabinets or shelves. Hangs/Installs or replaces pictures, wall ornaments, blinds and curtain rods. Painting: Accomplishes minor touch up painting to walls and furniture. Plumbing: Accomplishes minor plumbing repairs to include cleaning clogged drains and traps and removing/replacing minor defective parts in toilets. Electrical: Performs minor electrical tasks such as checking faulty light fixtures, replacing light bulbs and electrical outlet face places. Determines the source of major problems and refers to appropriate personnel for repairs. Moving Furniture: Assists in moving furniture, unloading from trucks and trailers, downloading and uploading furniture into rooms or buildings. Advises and makes recommendations to management in the areas of facility maintenance and improvement. Selects tools, materials and methods required to complete assignments. Must be familiar with hand and power tools common to the trade. Operates carpet/floor cleaning equipment. Assists with grounds maintenance and ice/snow removal as directed. Operates government vehicles up to one ton as needed. Performs other related duties as required.
20 guaranteed hour per week. Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
