ASU Brass Choir to Present ‘Night of Brass’

Angelo State University’s Brass Choir will present its annual fall concert “Night of Brass” on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the University Auditorium.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is open free to the public.  The Auditorium is located in the ASU Sol Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N.

The evening’s musical program will include “La Mourisque” from “The Dansertye” by Tylman Susato; “Introduction to Act III” from “Die Meistersinger” by Richard Wagner; “Variations on My Country Tis’ of Thee” by Chloe Fann; “Aubade” by Steven Winteregg; “Introduction” from “The Queen of Spades” by Peter I. Tchaikovsky; “Soul Bossa Nova” by Quincy Jones; “Danse Napolitaine” by Tchaikovsky; and “Three More Cats,” “Tubby Mousetrouser” and “Flora” by Chris Hazell.

The ASU Brass Choir is directed by Dr. Edward Surface, associate professor of music and interim chair of the ASU Art and Music Department.
