This is a temporary student work position, subject to renewal at the beginning of each semester. The key role of this position is to support the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) by performing general office tasks, assist the training coordinator by preparing for events, and serving as a backup for the office coordinator. Answer phones and redirect them effectively, take phone messages, copy, file, and/or shred documents, perform mail run, computer input, client data base maintenance, etc. This individual will also assist the training coordinator with preparation of training files before each seminar and shredding outdated files when necessary. The student assistant also maintains the SBDC resource library. Complete other duties as assigned. Must possess a pleasant personality with strong communication skills, knowledge of personal computers and software, telephone etiquette, an interest in business and customer service, must be pro-active, and confidentiality is required.
The SBDC is located in the Business Resource Center (BRC), Downtown San Angelo, at 69 North Chadbourne Street. Applicants must be able and willing to work in this location.
