Counselors and Substitutes (Pre-School)

Employer: YMCA Pre-School After School Program

Posted: April 02, 2013

This program provides after school care in a local Head Start program for children in grades pre-school. We maintain a ratio of 1:8, with at least 2 staff present. Staff play games, lead crafts and other activities.

We prefer Education or Child Development majors, though anyone with a passion for working with children, and a willingness to bring creativity, dedication and initiative to the program is encouraged to apply. This is a hands on, active position – candidates must be willing to play, create, and have fun, while still being an authority figure. We take the responsibility for each child enrolled in our program seriously and expect our staff to do the same.

Licensed by the State of Texas; staff must pass Criminal History and FBI Fingerprint background checks.  We require 10 hours of training per semester. Candidates must be prepared to attend training and mandatory meetings after work.

work 1:30-6:00 pm Monday – Friday

$7.25/hour. Staff meeting training and performance requirements receive pay increases each semester.

Apply in person at the YMCA.
