ASU Students Can Apply for D.C. Internship
February 18, 2013
The Congressional Internship Program will be offered for the fall 2013 semester. Interns will work fulltime in the office of either a U.S. representative or senator, based on the interns’ interests in issues, personality, hometown and abilities. They will receive an $8,000 scholarship and will live in Texas Tech University’s “Tech House” located two blocks from the Capitol.
During the internships, students will learn how federal policy is formulated in the nation’s capital, and will have the opportunity to observe and contribute to the legislative process.
Applications for the program are now being accepted in the ASU Political Science and Philosophy Department through Friday, March 8. Interns must be enrolled at ASU for a minimum of six hours while interning, and will be considered full-time students while they are in Washington, D.C., because of the number of hours they will work each week and the assignments they will be given.
