Chick-fil-A Leadercast Scheduled at ASU

Registration opens Monday, March 11, for the Chick-fil-A Leadercast “Simply Lead,” which is being sponsored May 10 by Angelo State University’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations and will feature a variety of speakers ranging from Jack Welch to Condoleezza Rice.

Open to the public, the national simulcast is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center.  Registration will be available through the ASU website at www.angelo.edu/leadercast.  Additional information is available through ASU’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 942-2116.

Cost to participate is $109 per person for the general public; $89 per person for groups of three or more, for active members of the ASU Alumni Association and for the current class and alumni members of Leadership San Angelo; and $60 for ASU faculty and staff.  Lunch is included with registration.  Check-in begins at 8 a.m. May 10 with the program starting at 9 a.m.

The conference is designed to help participants improve their leadership skills and to network with other area leaders.  Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric, and Rice, the U.S. Secretary of State from 2005-09, headline a roster of notable leaders and motivators on the Chick-fil-A Leadercast.

Other participants will include Mike Krzyzewski, head men’s basketball coach, Duke University and Team USA; Andy Stanley, best-selling leadership author and communicator; Sanya Richards-Ross, 2012 London Olympic gold medalist in track and field; Dr. Henry Cloud, best-selling author and leadership consultant; Lt. Cmdr. Rorke Denver, Navy SEAL and star of 2012 movie “Act of Valor;” John C. Maxwell, best-selling author and leadership expert; and productivity expert David Allen, best-selling author of Getting Things Done.

The Chick-fil-A Leadercast will be broadcast live from Atlanta and simulcast into communities throughout North America and the world.  More than 125,000 leaders from around the globe are expected to participate in the event that is being promoted as an opportunity to be challenged, inspired and encouraged.
