Comedian Jamie Kennedy to Appear at ASU’s Club Cafe
September 20, 2010
The 7:30 p.m. performance in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center will be the second Club Café of the fall, following last month’s packed-house appearance by another famous comedian, Rob Schneider.
ASU student tickets are being presold up to the 960-ticket limit set for the event. If all the tickets are not presold to students, the remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the door.
Admission is $2 for ASU students and, if tickets remain, $5 for the general public. The audience will be treated to coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, cookies, brownies and other refreshments. Free coffee mugs will be given away to the first 100 people at the event.
Kennedy’s breakout performance as an actor came not in comedy, but in the horror genre, playing a video store clerk in Wes Craven’s “Scream” and “Scream 2.” Since those performances, he has appeared in numerous movies with such A-list stars as George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin and Will Smith. Most recently, he has starred in the CBS series “Ghost Whisperer” opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Kennedy also takes on writing and producing with projects such as the critically acclaimed “Heckler,” a documentary he produced with Michael Addis, which explores the increasingly critical world we live in.
Other recent credits include starring roles in the movies “Kickin’ It Old Skool” and “Malibu’s Most Wanted.” He also created a hit show on the WB network, “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.” Kennedy began performing improvisational and stand-up comedy at 18 in Los Angeles.
