Ashworth-King at Medieval and Renaissance Conference

Assistant professor of English, Dr. Erin Ashworth-King (pictured here second from left) participated in a roundtable discussion on “The Place of Medieval and Renaissance Scholarship in the Academy” at the first annual International Conference on Medieval and Renaissance Thought, hosted by Sam Houston State University, April 4-6, 2013.

In addition to the roundtable, Ashworth-King chaired a panel titled, “Explorations in Renaissance Literature.”

    On Tuesday evening, our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, inducted fifteen new members.
  • On November 2nd, Dr. Jules Gates, associate professor of English, presented her creative nonfiction poem “From His Coy Mistress” on a panel with two other creative nonfiction writers at the 2015 South Central Modern Language Conference (SCMLA) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dr. Chris Ellery, a professor of English in Angelo State University’s Department of English and Modern Languages, has won first prize in the eighth biennial X.J. Kennedy Award for Creative Nonfiction administered by Rosebud Magazine.
