ASU’s Jazz Ensemble to Present Concert

Angelo State University’s Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert on Tuesday, April 16, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public.

Selections will include “Hay Burner” and “Ev’ry Little Beat Helps” written for Count Basie by Sammy Nestico, the Glenn Miller hit “A String of Pearls” by Jerry Gray, “A Child is Born” by Thad Jones, “Lullaby of Birdland” by George Shearing, and the Yellowjackets’ “Mile High.”  Also, “These Foolish Things” by Jack Strachey and Harry Link, “After You’ve Gone” by Turner Layton and “The Crescent City Stomp” by Eric Richards.

The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Tim Bonenfant, ASU associate professor of music.
