Nature of Business: Farming
City: San Angelo, Texas
SBDC Business Advisor: Paul Howard

Keith and Scott grew up on a farm and it is in their blood. They worked the family farm until they grew up but they determined that it was not as profitable as they thought it should be. So, they diversified and not only farmed but started installing irrigation systems to improve the farmland. They have been in these businesses for several years and it has been very good to them.

However, they realized the loans that they acquired were not getting paid down very quickly. Keith and Scott decided to contact the Angelo State University • Small Business Development Center and met with Advisor Paul Howard. Paul told them about the SBA guaranty loan program and they were excited to get that process started. After working with a lender, it was determined they would not need the guaranty but Keith stated, “The SBDC helped me walk through the steps of gathering my correct paper work, cash flows and sales. They also did it on time and very thoroughly which helped set up my whole profile. I really
enjoyed working with Paul and the ladies. I would never be hesitant to come ask questions and I know they will help find the answers.”

Gully Boy’s now has in place financing that they can work with and pay down in a timely manner. The business expanded and helped retain two jobs for the San Angelo economy.
