Owners/Managers: Susan Childress

Susan is a retired educator and inventor. She invented a device that helps those that have trouble sitting upright. Susan went through the process of building a prototype and getting a patent for this invention. She now has inventory available and is trying to market them to a variety of retailers, nursing homes and medical centers.

It has been a labor of love for her. She decided to contact the Angelo State University • Small Business Development Center for help. Susan met with Advisor Paul Howard who suggested some marketing avenues.

He told her about the HUB certification and together obtained that certification. It was also recommended she set up a business FaceBook page and was assisted by the SBDC’s Training Coordinator, Jessica Lambert. Susan says, “The SBDC has been a great asset to my business. Without advice and direction I have received, I am not sure I would have made it this far. Anytime I need something they are willing to help and lead me in the direction I

need to go.”

Hall International, LLC has expanded and retained one job for the San Angelo economy.
