Stephen started Team Spirit after selling a successful business about two years ago. The business provides t-shirts, uniforms and jerseys to many of the young sports teams in San Angelo and the surrounding area. The business has grown over these two years to the extent that Stephen was having trouble keeping up with all of his orders. Stephen also needed a new embroidery machine that would be more productive and fast.

He decided to seek the help of the Angelo State University • Small Business Development Center and met with Advisors Paul Howard and Adriana Balcorta Havins. The advisors suggested that Stephen work on a business plan so he could present it to a lender. They also recommended that they make a trip to the business and observe how the business operates. The advisors made suggestions to Stephen that could make the business run more smoothly and efficiently.

Stephen says, “The SBDC has helped me assess my financial strengths and weaknesses and have helped me put together a game plan for the future of Team Spirit. ”Team Spirit was able to purchase the embroidery machine that helped his business grow and retain 11 employees.
