Art was asked to be a presenter at the MFT national conference in Nashville. He had always wanted to start his own practice and thought this would be a good time to do just that. Art was unsure about business structure so he met with Advisor Paul Howard of the Angelo State University • Small Business Development Center for assistance.

Paul suggested to Art that a LLC may be his best option to structure his business. He also directed him to the Comptroller of Public Accounts office to determine if his service would be taxable. Art said, “The SBDC was helpful with my business startup expenses and exploring various marketing strategies. I also learned of any potential legal hurdles that I may face.”

Mavrode Educational Services created one job for the San Angelo economy. Art plans to not only assist those in need, but to educate as well.
