Every successful business either satisfies a need, a perceived need, or a desire. Cindy Warren realized through personal experience and work-related experience that cell phone service in remote areas of West Texas could be spotty at best. She researched the issue and learned there was a product available to help boost cell phone signals and provide better service in these remote areas.

Every successful business either satisfies a need, a perceived need, or a desire. Cindy Warren realized through personal experience and work-related experience that cell phone service in remote areas of West Texas could be spotty at best. She researched the issue and learned there was a product available to help boost cell phone signals and provide better service in these remote areas. 

She also learned there was not a local supplier dedicated to this product. After identifying the need, an available solution, and evaluating the demand for the product, Warren Amplifiers was born.

Cindy came to the Angelo State University – Small Business Development Center and met with James Leavelle for guidance on setting up her business and assistance in finding ways to promote her business. Cindy says, “James Leavelle has provided invaluable assistance for my business every step of the way. From deciding to start my own business to hiring sales people and opening my first store, I can always count on his guidance and support. I feel very blessed to have such an amazing resource available to me in San Angelo.” 

Warren Amplifiers sells cell phone amplifiers for the home, office, cars and trucks. Her amplifiers can be “permanently” installed or portable. Cindy began working out of her home selling her product through cold calling on potential customers. Today, she has two store fronts in two West Texas communities and several sales representatives throughout the southwest.

    James joined the SBDC in November 2011 as a Business Development Specialist.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and completed his MBA from Angelo State University in December 2011. After a career in the United States Air Force, James has owned and managed a floorcovering business.  Additionally, he has been a store manager and a multi-unit manager in the convenience store industry.  He further utilized that retail management experience training store management and staff for a large convenience store chain.   While his career has led him to multiple parts of the world, San Angelo has become home for him and his family.
