Student Warrior Outdoor Leadership Experience Pilot Program

July 16, 2013

UREC partners with the VETS Center to provide student veterans an outdoor experience tailored to their needs.

With the recent drawdown of forces, ASU is expecting a large uptick in enrollment of military veterans. In addition to the normal services a student seeks when entering college, student veterans have specialized needs to help integrate and transition back to civilian life.

Outdoor Adventures, a division of UREC, is partnering with the VETS Center to provide these incoming student veterans a unique outdoor experience of a lifetime. Using the Outward Bound Warrior Transition Program as a model, the goal of this program is to help create friendships and bonds with other incoming student veterans through a common and fun experience.

We are in the initial stages of pulling different experiences and opportunities together, and your feedback will help us know the direction that you might like to see this program go.

Trip dates, location, and activities are confirmed. Details of the SWOLE trip are now within the event found here: Please, visit and register there, or feel free to contact us directly with questions.
