ASU Hosts Entrepreneur Day
October 30, 2013
Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is hosting the second annual eDay, a free educational event to promote entrepreneurship, on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the ASU Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
Events, which are open free to the public, will begin at noon upstairs in the University Center and will follow a come-and-go format so that students can attend at times that fit their schedules. Highlights will include an eLounge for networking, obtaining information and snacking, open until 5 p.m., as well as a variety of breakout sessions. Keynote speaker Johnny Ross, chief executive officer of Fort Worth-based Medhab, will give a presentation at 3:30 p.m.
A San Angelo native and ASU alum with a master’s degree in public administration, Ross started MedHab in 2008. The startup has two certified patents and eight patents pending, focusing on innovative medical and sports technology.
Breakout sessions will be held at 12:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m., and topics will include “Great Leaders = Great Business,” “Dorm Room CEO: How to Start a Business,” “Idea Gold: How to Profit from Patents, Inventions & Technology,” “The World Is Your Playing Field: Doing Business Internationally,” and “Creative Advertising: Marketing Yourself.”
Students can register online at the SBDC website or at the door.
