ASU SBDC’s Network Accredited

October 28, 2013

The parent network of Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) recently earned full accreditation under the America’s Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration guidelines.

“The reaccreditation of the SWTXB network further proves our ability and dedication to providing the best-in-class services and resources to small business owners and the professionalism and caliber of our advisors,” said Albert Salgado, state director of the San Antonio-based SWTXB SBDC Network.

As part of the SWTXB SBDC Network, ASU’s SBDC serves a 10-county area of the Concho Valley. ASU SBDC, located in the Business Resource Center at 69 N. Chadbourne St. downtown, is staffed by professional advisors providing high-quality business startup and expansion assistance through advising, research and training.

“Our commitment to the small business community is stronger than ever in terms of technical business advice and training,” said ASU SBDC Director Dave Erickson. “In addition, we play an important role in the economic development of the area.”

In fiscal year 2013, which ended Sept. 30, the ASU SBDC served more than 547 businesses, held 107 business seminars and workshops, helped small businesses create 234 jobs and retain more than 152 jobs, provided assistance to entrepreneurs and business owners to start 49 new businesses and expand 30 businesses.
