Riggs Joins Alpha Chi Honor Society

Rachel Riggs, a double major in English and Communication, was one of sixty-eight students recently inducted into the ASU Chapter of Alpha Chi.

Accepting college students from all disciplines, Alpha Chi is a national college honor society that admits the top 10 percent of upper level and graduate students.

    On Tuesday evening, our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, inducted fifteen new members.
  • On November 2nd, Dr. Jules Gates, associate professor of English, presented her creative nonfiction poem “From His Coy Mistress” on a panel with two other creative nonfiction writers at the 2015 South Central Modern Language Conference (SCMLA) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dr. Chris Ellery, a professor of English in Angelo State University’s Department of English and Modern Languages, has won first prize in the eighth biennial X.J. Kennedy Award for Creative Nonfiction administered by Rosebud Magazine.
