ASU Club Café Features Pop Singer

Angelo State University’s Club Café coffeehouse entertainment series will host Los Angeles-based pop singer Jessie Payo on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

Payo will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center.  Admission prices will be $2 for ASU students and $5 for the general public at the door.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.

Best known as the front woman of the pop group Jupiter Rising, Payo is a singer, songwriter, actress and dancer who recently launched her solo career.  With Jupiter Rising, she sang the vocals for the hit songs “GO” and “Electropop” and opened concerts for the Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Lauryn Hill, Lupe Fiasco, Etta James and Boyz II Men.  Her music has appeared on MTV’s “The Hills,” ABC’s “Make It or Break It,” Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and CBS’s “Criminal Minds.”
