Sophomore Philip J. Poundstone, a management information systems major from Abilene, along with freshmen Emily E. Chase, a biochemistry major from Houston, and Brian A. Kelly, an undeclared major from Dublin, have been awarded ICSP Commander’s Leadership Scholarships. They were chosen from a pool of 40 ASU cadet candidates based on their GPA, fitness test scores and involvement in corps activities. Each will receive annual tuition and fee payments up to $18,000, $900 yearly for books and a $300-$500 monthly stipend.
To be eligible for the Commander’s Leadership Scholarships, cadets must have at least a 2.5 GPA, pass the Air Force fitness test, meet weight standards and pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT). The scholarships are awarded by the detachment commander with approval from Headquarters, Air Force ROTC.
Additionally, ASU cadet Cameron G. Simon, a freshman computer science major from Stinnett, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Air Force Association. The one-time award is for exhibiting outstanding leadership and dedication in pursuit of academic excellence.
