ASU Hosting College Deans Conference

University and college deans from across the state will gather at Angelo State University next week for the Annual Conference of the Texas Association of Deans of Liberal Arts and Sciences (TADLAS) Feb. 2-3 at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center, 1620 University Ave.

Highlighting the conference will be a presentation by State Rep. Drew Darby on the prospects for higher education in the 2011 Texas Legislative Session. His presentation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the LeGrand Center Ballroom. Dr. Belle Whelan, president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), of which ASU is a member, will also address the attendees at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday in the Ballroom.

Other activities for conference attendees will include a dinner and tour at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts on Tuesday.
