14 Students Join Alpha Mu Gamma

Congratulations to the fourteen ASU students who were initiated into Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Foreign Language Honor Society, December 3, 2013.  These students received their certificates of membership at an Italian dinner hosted by current AMG leadership and members of the English and Modern Languages faculty.

    On Tuesday evening, our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, inducted fifteen new members.
  • On November 2nd, Dr. Jules Gates, associate professor of English, presented her creative nonfiction poem “From His Coy Mistress” on a panel with two other creative nonfiction writers at the 2015 South Central Modern Language Conference (SCMLA) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dr. Chris Ellery, a professor of English in Angelo State University’s Department of English and Modern Languages, has won first prize in the eighth biennial X.J. Kennedy Award for Creative Nonfiction administered by Rosebud Magazine.
