That is Juan Great Taco!!!

January 29, 2014

Armed with great family recipes, Elva Harness had the idea of starting her own mobile food business. Her husband had owned his own business for a number of years in the local area before selling it. With his experience in business and her recipes and experience in cooking, they bought a trailer and researched the requirements to get a health permit.

Armed with great family recipes, Elva Harness had the idea of starting her own mobile food business. Her husband had owned his own business for a number of years in the local area before selling it. With his experience in business and her recipes and experience in cooking, they bought a trailer and researched the requirements to get a health permit.

Knowing there was more to starting a business than getting a health permit, Elva and her husband came to the Angelo State University – Small Business Development Center to learn more about getting their business started, marketing the business, and how to accept credit cards in a mobile environment.

They were assigned to James Leavelle, Business Development Specialist. He and Jessica Lambert, Business Development Specialist, worked with them to develop a social media presence as a marketing tool for their business. James also assisted the Harnesses in learning how to accept credit cards in the mobile environment. The Harnesses indicate the SBDC was instrumental in helping setup their Facebook page, advertising, and credit card acceptance. Elva started her business, creating four jobs.
