Stormi Walker, LMT, is serious about her business. As a licensed massage therapist for the last five years, Stormi has been able to expand her business size and double her number of locations. Her first business location was a very small facility in Ballinger, Texas. She then realized she wanted to add more services and rent a larger building.
Before she made the move, she contacted Advisor Peggy Rosser with Angelo State University Small Business Development Center. Stormi was appreciative of the assistance, “We worked through cash flows to determine whether to move to a larger space, brainstormed business ideas and Peggy helped me get organized and focused.”
Once Stormi and Advisor Rosser put the numbers together, Stormi realized she could grow. She rented a larger space in Ballinger and then continued to expand and added a business location in San Angelo. Stormi works three days a week at each location.
The Ballinger location also provides beauty services such as haircuts and color, pedicures and acrylic finger nails. Both locations also provide customers the opportunity to purchase the health products, “It Works!”
Stormi’s expansion created economic growth in Ballinger and San Angelo. It also created a job for her and has given opportunity for many others to add to their economic base through health and beauty services.
