Schonberg Selected as NEH Reviewer

Dr. Jeff Schonberg, professor of English, has been selected to serve as a peer review panelist for the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowships program.

He will meet with other panelists in the area of Communication, Rhetoric, and Linguistics in Washington, D.C. in August of this year.

The NEH Fellowships Program supports research undertaken by affiliated and unaffiliated scholars working in all areas of the humanities.

Dr. Schonberg is the first scholar selected from Angelo State University in the last twenty-years to serve as a NEH peer reviewer.

    On Tuesday evening, our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, inducted fifteen new members.
  • On November 2nd, Dr. Jules Gates, associate professor of English, presented her creative nonfiction poem “From His Coy Mistress” on a panel with two other creative nonfiction writers at the 2015 South Central Modern Language Conference (SCMLA) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dr. Chris Ellery, a professor of English in Angelo State University’s Department of English and Modern Languages, has won first prize in the eighth biennial X.J. Kennedy Award for Creative Nonfiction administered by Rosebud Magazine.
