New OA Program: Trail Run Thursdays
July 30, 2014
We are very excited to announce a new trail running series taking place in San Angelo State Park. The series promotes trail running tips/tricks, getting outside, and having fun while running. Any experience level is welcome.
Any ASU student, faculty, or staff member is welcome. Family and friends are welcome to meet us at the park, but they cannot ride with us. Only the first 9 valid participants will receive a ride and free entrance to the State Park. Others may meet us there, but the cost is $4 a person at the entrance gate.
Participants will not need to bring much. You should wear running/athletic clothing and sturdy sneakers. We recommend you bring a bottle of water to leave in the van.
Every Thursday during the month of September and October at 5 pm. Trail running has a lot of variables, but we will generally aim to finish our run and be back on campus around 7-7:30 pm.
We will meet at the Outdoor Adventures Center (OAC) next to the ping pong table at 5 pm. From there, we will ride over to San Angelo State Park.
We plan on running rain or shine. In severe weather, we will make that determination at least an hour before the scheduled meeting time. To get immediate notification of cancellation, we recommend you subscribe to our text message service. Additionally, we will post announcements on social media sites like, our Facebook Page.
Distance and trails will vary upon the makeup of the group. Generally, we will be on the South Shore of the State Park.
