50th Anniversary Party on 9/17

September 12, 2014

The Porter Henderson Library will celebrate its 50th anniversary as a Federal Depository Library with cake and coffee at 10:30 AM on September 17

In 1964, the Porter Henderson Library was designated as a Federal Depository Library. As a member of this program, we receive information published by many agencies in the Federal Government and make them freely available to the public. The information spans a wide variety of types, including laws, budgets, studies, court cases, maps, directories – and lots, lots more! Our collection enables our community to learn more about the Federal Government’s activities and therefore, encourages civic participation and the development of a strong democracy.

To commemorate our 50th anniversary as a Federal Depository Library, we are throwing a party on Constitution Day: September 17. Help us celebrate our anniversary and the ratification of the U.S. Constitution with cake and coffee at 10:30 AM in the Government Documents section of the Library (in the southeast corner of the basement floor). All are welcome!
