ASU Ensembles to Perform ‘Galactic Empires’ Concert

Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble will perform the “Galactic Empires” concert Sunday, April 25, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The 3 p.m. concert will be in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public.

The program will include a mix of band favorites and more contemporary works. Among the pieces planned are “The Ascension” from Robert W. Smith’s “Divine Comedy,” the title piece, “Galactic Empires” by David Gillingham, “The Solitary Dancer” by Warren Benson and “Alchemy in Silent Spaces” by Steven Bryant. Dr. Daniel McCloud directs the Wind Ensemble.

The program also features performances from the Chamber Winds symphonic band, another ensemble from the Art and Music Department.
