ASU Music Professor to Present Recital

November 04, 2011

Dr. Eleanor Elkins, Angelo State University assistant professor of music, will perform a piano recital on Friday, Nov. 11, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The 7:30 p.m. concert in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall is open free to the public.

The program, “Soli Sonate,” includes commentary to help concertgoers follow sonata form as it unfolds in works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. This musical “blueprint” was the predominant form for almost two centuries. The recital concludes with the epic “Sonata in B Minor” by Franz Liszt.
