ASU Grad School Nationally Ranked

For the third straight year, Angelo State University’s College of Graduate Studies has been named one of the Top 50 Online Graduate Programs in the U.S. for 2015 by GraduatePrograms.com, an online guide that recognizes higher education graduate programs, based on student evaluations.

Overall, ASU’s graduate program is ranked No. 15 and is joined on the Top 50 list by programs at five other Texas universities. Programs are ranked utilizing ratings and reviews posted on GraduatePrograms.com by more than 25,000 students enrolled in over 600 different online graduate programs. Students rate their respective programs using a 10-star system, with one being the worst and 10 the best. ASU’s average ranking is 8.93 stars. The No. 15 overall ranking is also ASU’s highest after coming in at No. 18 in 2013 and No. 21 in 2014.

Additionally, GraduatePrograms.com ranks the top 25 online graduate programs in 14 individual academic disciplines. For psychology, ASU’s program ranked No. 15 on the list with an average ranking of 8.28 stars – and was the only program at a Texas school to be ranked. 

GraduatePrograms.com assigns 15 ranking categories to each graduate program at each graduate school. Rankings cover a variety of student topics, such as academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid and quality of network. For a given graduate program, rankings are determined by calculating the average score based on the 15 ranking categories. 

ASU offers online graduate degree programs in business administration, criminal justice, curriculum and instruction, education, homeland security, nursing, psychology and security studies. 

The other Texas institutions on the Top 50 overall list are Lamar University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M-Commerce, Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Texas at Dallas. 

GraduatePrograms.com is funded by the nonprofit Graduate Programs Foundation, which also dispenses scholarships to select students who participate in its Rate and Review program.
