Downtown Daquiri Bar

San Angelo, TX
SBDC Advisor: Pedro Ramirez

Garrick Engle knew what he wanted when he first stepped foot in San Angelo. He wanted to own his own bar. But not just any bar, he wanted to own his own daiquiri bar. What he didn’t know was how to start and how long the journey would take.

Garrick first met with Advisor Ramirez in October 2009 and since then they both started working on this project. The first vital component of the puzzle was solved soon afterwards, when Garrick secured a downtown building for his proposed bar. The business plan developed soon afterwards and the prospective bar owner was off and running on his wild journey.

The journey finally reached its second major milestone when the business finally conducted its grand opening in December 2010. Today, Grinners has helped draw a new market segment to the downtown area with its white leather couches, stainless steel chairs and tables, and ever changing daiquiri selection.
