Enlisted to Officer Opportunities

Detachment 847 specializes primarily in Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), allowing military members to seperate, becoming full-time college students and commission as officers after graduation.

However, there are other ways active duty enlisted may become officers:

Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP) – Complete bachelor’s degree as an Air Force ROTC cadet.

Professional Officer Course-Early Release Program (POC-ERP) – Enter ROTC within two years of separation and become full time college student.

Scholarships for Outstanding Airmen (SOAR) – Separate active duty and become a full time college student through ROTC.

Airmen Education and Commissioning Program (AECP) – Earn bachelor’s degree while on active duty then attend Officer Training School.

Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program (NECP) - Earn bachelor’s degree in Nursing while on active duty.

Officer Training School (OTS) - Allows those with bachelor's degree to complete military training to become an officer.
