Master of Science in Animal Science

The Department of Agriculture offers both a thesis and non-thesis option for students interested in obtaining a M.S. degree in Animal Science. The thesis option is usually reserved for those students that are successful in acquiring a departmental graduate assistantship. The number of assistantships available vary depending on the number of active graduate students and available funds.

Those students successful in receiving an assistantship may choose one of several areas of research specialization, including

The thesis option requires students to complete 30 hours of coursework (including 6 hrs of thesis credit), while the non-thesis option requires 36 hours of coursework.
