Advertising Club

The Advertising Club was formed fairly recently, and it is affiliated with the San Angelo Advertising Federation and the American Advertising Federation. By being affiliated with these two groups, the ASU Advertising Club is eligible to participate in the National ADDY Awards. Full-time students and full-time faculty members are eligible for membership in the Advertising Club at Angelo State University.

Advertising was imported from England to the United States where it was already being used by businesses to a great extent. Advertising continued to be used throughout the history of the United States to increase the selling power of companies and at times even in the government. It was discovered that females were more likely to look at advertisements during the early 1900's. Therefore, companies sought to lure women to buy their products through their advertising.

Even today, people compete to have their advertisements seen ~ consider the money spent to have an advertisement seen on the Super bowl.
