Curriculum and Instruction
The ASU Department of Curriculum and Instruction is designed entirely around the concepts of meeting students’ needs and training today’s professionals to be leaders.
Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
The department works with undergraduate students training to teach grades 4-8 science, mathematics and social studies. It also works extensively with graduate students who are training to be guidance counselors, principals, superintendents and other school administrators.
Another of our popular programs allows anyone with a bachelor’s degree to get teaching certification in just a little more than a year. We also offer a guidance and counseling option, which allows students to train to work in school settings and to become licensed professional counselors in private practice.
Flexible Class Schedules
Students who have full-time jobs will find that they can still fit college into their schedules. All of our course content for undergraduate and graduate students is available online through the Blackboard software program. Classes still meet, but not as frequently as what you may find in other departments. Students can get homework assignments and complete readings as well as interact with classmates and professors online.
Tech-Savvy Department
Curriculum and instruction students also have access to the New Education Innovative Teaching Center, a classroom outfitted with the same state-of-the-art technology and equipment that teachers and administrators are likely to use when they start their careers.
