Undergraduate Degree Programs

Students who plan to teach grades 4-8 science, mathematics or social studies spend their first three years becoming specialists by studying in the ASU department(s) that focus on their area of interest (i.e., those pursuing social studies focus primarily on courses in history, government and geography).

In their fourth year, students become more heavily involved in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. They also complete student teaching, which is vital to their learning experience.

All undergraduate curriculum and instruction course material is available to students online. Students also have access to the New Education Innovative Teaching Center, a classroom outfitted with the same state-of-the-art technology and equipment that teachers and administrators are likely to use when they start their careers.
