About the Department

The Department of English offers exciting degree programs, stimulating classes, and opportunities for faculty/student interaction. Grounded in the belief that language and literature shape people's lives and cultures, the department faculty offer both traditional and contemporary classes. Students can study everything from Business Communications to Web Design, from Aristotle to Seneca, or from Rudolfo Anaya to The Watchman . There are all kinds of points in between. Take the time to review our course offerings. You'll leave ASU well-grounded in both the classic and the contemporary.

In the department, students can earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Writing, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Secondary Certification. Anchored by a low faculty to student ratio, our department looks for innovative ways to teach, advise, and mentor our students.

Feel free to contact any of the faculty if you have questions or want more information about a degree in English from ASU.
