Honors Student Criteria

Entering Freshman Requirements

  1. Top 10% of High School Class
  2. ACT Score of 27 or SAT Score of 1200 (Combined Reading and Math)
  3. Completed Honors Program Application,Reference Forms and Applicant Disclosure Form.
  4. Extracurricular Activities
  5. Agree to follow the current Honors Student Handbook

Transfer Students or Spring Admission Students

  1. 3.25 GPA or better
  2. Top 10% of High School Class (College GPA may substitute)
  3. ACT Score of 27 or SAT Score of 1200 (Combined Reading and Math)
  4. Completed Honors Program Application,Reference Forms and Applicant Disclosure Form.
  5. Extracurricular Activities
  6. Agree to follow the current Honors Student Handbook.

International Baccalaureate High School Students

  1. Students who successfully complete an International Baccalaureate high school program will receive automatic admission to the Honors Program. They must, however still complete all application materials necessary for being admitted into the Honors Program.
  2. Completed Honors Program Application,Reference Forms and Applicant Disclosure Form.
  3. Agree to follow the current Honors Student Handbook.

DON’T MEET THE CRITERIA?

Students failing to meet these requirements, but who are still interested in joining the Honors Program, are encouraged to talk to Nancy Larson, Honors Program Officer. Exceptions to the criteria may be made, provided that evidence of extenuating circumstances exists.
