Mission, Core Values, and Goals
Mission Statement
The mission of Department of Kinesiology is to provide prospective and current kinesiology professionals with requisite knowledge, skills, and dispositions for high-quality living, leadership, and service to a dynamic, diverse, and global 21st century community and workplace. The Department of Kinesiology also endeavors to provide all undergraduate students with requisite knowledge, skills, and dispositions for lifelong physical activity.
Core Values
The faculty and staff of the Department of Kinesiology endeavor to uphold a body of core values though our actions and interactions with students, parents and other members of the ASU community. These values are:
- People- We value people and the dignity inherent to human existence. All peoples- their culture, their background, their talents, and their points-of-view are to be valued, respected, and celebrated.
- Character and Professionalism- We value respectfulness, honesty, integrity, humility, dependability, competence, and other attributes and manifestations of strength of character and professional ethic.

Goals
What follows are broad goals for all graduates rather than student learning outcomes specific to each of our respective degree programs. Specific outcomes are derived from peer-established professional competencies and other generally accepted expectations of the higher education community.
