Meet Our Staff
Joe Muñoz
Joe Muñoz holds a B.S. in education from Angelo State University and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. He has been at ASU since 1993 and is the assistant to the president for multicultural initiatives. He is also the senior executive assistant to the president and a lecturer in the College of Business.
Flor Leos Madero
Flor Leos Madero received her B.A. and M.A. in communication from Angelo State University and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin seeking a Ph.D. in communication studies. She joined ASU in 2001 and has worked in various capacities throughout the university. She is currently the Multicultural Center coordinator, providing leadership for the center and working to develop and implement innovative programs and services for traditionally under-represented students.
Adriana Balcorta
Adriana Balcorta received her B.B.A. and M.B.A. in finance and international business from Angelo State University. She is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, and has worked with several Multicultural Center programs since 2006. She conducts research and aids in the development of student programs that foster recruitment, enrollment and retention activities for under-represented student populations.
Michelle Greeman
Michelle Greeman joined Angelo State as a program specialist in November 2008. She works with the first-generation programs and utilizes her previous experience in planning interactive and motivational activities for program participants. She also assists with the other programs hosted by the Multicultural Center. She holds both a B.S. and a M.A. in agricultural and extension education from New Mexico State University.
Lorina Soza-Klingemann
Lorina Soza-Klingemann received a B.F.A in art with a minor in communication from Sul Ross State University. She serves as a host parent for first-generation students, is a co-sponsor of Border States Ambassadors, a board member of the Right Choices for Youth Coalition and coordinator of the First-Generation Host Family Program.
Hope Garza
Hope Garza joined the Multicultural Center in September 2008 as an education adviser for the Up & Coming Scholars Program. She received a B.A. in elementary education from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in psychology counseling from ASU. She has taught 17 years in the San Angelo Independent School District and is currently at ASU serving students who are part of the center’s various scholarship programs.

Elizabeth Lujan
Elizabeth Lujan received a B.B.A. in general business from Angelo State University and joined the Multicultural Center as a graduate assistant in October 2008. She is currently working on her M.B.A. Originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, she helps with various retention and outreach programs, designs and presents workshops, and assists in the coordination of various Multicultural Center activities.
Tyler Bethea
Tyler Bethea received his B.A. in Spanish from Texas Tech University and joined the Multicultural Center in August 2009 as an Office Assistant. He has also studied applied linguistics and worked as a teaching assistant for Spanish at Texas Tech. Tyler contributes to retention and outreach efforts and assists in the coordination of various Multicultural Center activities.
