4+1 Bachelor and Master of Science in Physics Program with Texas Tech University

This agreement between the Physics Departments at ASU and Texas Tech University allows ASU graduates with bachelor’s degrees in applied physics or physics to transfer credit to a TTU Master of Science program in either major.  Ten undergraduate credits from ASU transfer to the TTU master’s program, leaving 20 hours to be completed at TTU.

Requirements

Courses for Transfer

To be eligible for credit transfer, students must earn at least a 3.0 GPA with no grade lower than a B in these courses:

Texas Tech Graduate Admission

ASU physics and applied physics students who meet the criteria below  can gain admission to Texas Tech University to earn a master’s degree in physics or applied physics or a doctorate of philosophy in physics.  Eligibility requirements include:

  • A grade of no lower than a B in:
    • Electricity and Magnetism
    • Quantum Mechanics
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in intermediate and advanced physics courses (level 3000 or higher)
  • Meet all the requirements of TTU’s Graduate School

Students applying to the TTU Master of Science in Applied Physics program that includes  an internship in the semiconductor industry also need to  complete these courses with no grade lower than a B:

    • Solid State Physics
    • Digital Electronics or Electronic Instruments
