Planetarium

The Angelo State University Planetarium is one of the largest planetariums in Texas, boasting a 50-foot dome and seating for 110. The Spitz 512 projector is capable of projecting more than 5,000 stars.

Located on the first floor in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building, the Planetarium is used as a physics classroom for astronomy, physical science and geology courses.

The first phase of a $900,000 renovation project on the Planetarium is scheduled to begin this summer.

The Planetarium is also one of the largest community outreach programs on campus. About 9,700 students of all ages attend viewings at the Planetarium each year. School and public Planetarium programs are given when ASU classes are in session.
